NZQA
NZQA is the New Zealand Qualifications Authority responsible for implementing the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) at Levels 1, 2 and 3.
NCEA is the main qualification for secondary school students/ākonga in New Zealand. It is made up of internally and externally assessed standards on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework which have a credit value. External standards include exams and portfolios of work.
NCEA is recognised by employers, and used for selection by universities and polytechnics, both in New Zealand and oversears. New Zealand Scholarship exams provides recognition and monetary rewards to top Level 3 students/ākonga.
