Pool:
Congratulations to Alyssa Bailey, Korbin Symonds-Shakespeare and Lilly Symonds-Brown, who had a competitive three days of competition at the Junior Pool Nationals held at the Cashmere Club. A special congratulations to Korbin on his outstanding achievement of finishing runner-up in the Trophy Event final.
Lilly, Alyssa, and Korbin all performed exceptionally well during section play, each competing in five challenging matches against strong opposition
Following section play, Lilly progressed to an additional match, while Alyssa advanced through to play two more matches. Korbin produced an outstanding run of results, playing three extra matches and earning a place in the Trophy Event final, where he finished as runner-up in a highly competitive field.
The tournament featured plenty of close contests, impressive shot-making, and tense moments, playing some of the country’s top junior pool players.
All three students are part of our Pools in Schools programme that is run as a Wednesday Sport option, and we thank the Kaiapoi Working Men’s Club pool section for the opportunity they give to our students.
