‘Big Low Dream’ Dance Workshop & Show, with Footnote New Zealand Dance
Our senior dance students were challenged to learn and reproduce the surreal, contorted and unruly choreography from Footnote NZ Dance’s current touring show, ‘Big Low Dream’ by Jess McCall.
Footnote dancer, Airu Matsuda, and Footnote Artistic Director, Anita Hunziker, led us through the strange movements of the Tooth Dance from the show, which we got to see on stage at Papa Hou Black Box Theatre, in Christchurch on Saturday 19th September. The show explores the illusionary quality of dreams and nightmares, playing with audience perceptions, and dancers’ physical abilities.
