On Monday, the 10th of February 2025, we proudly signed a sister school agreement with Kurashiki Seiryō Senior High School (KSHS) in Japan.
The principal of KSHS, Mr Izumi Hiroaki, traveled for two days to join us at Kaiapoi for this significant signing ceremony. He will spend 36 hours in Canterbury before returning home to Japan.
Both Kaiapoi High School (KHS) and Kurashiki Seiryō High School (KSHS) share a commitment to learning from one another, aiming to develop better programmes for our students. During the ceremony, KHS Principal Mr Reid emphasized our mission beyond academics, we strive to cultivate our students’ global citizenship. We aim for our students to recognize and appreciate different cultures, fostering mutual understanding and respect.
I also assured Mr Izumi Hiroaki that we will nurture this relationship for the long term, ensuring that our two schools remain closely connected.
We look forward to the incredible opportunities this partnership will bring!
