Opportunity for scholarship to study in Japan!

This year, there was a scholarship opportunity for New Zealand students to apply for a study programme at Shotoku Gakuen High School in Tokyo, Japan, for a few weeks. Many KHS students who were part of the friendship programme applied for this opportunity and worked hard to prepare.

Seven Canterbury high schools participated in this scholarship programme, and only one student would be selected to go to Japan. In Week 7 this term, three of our students—Elisha, Ruby, and Oscar—were chosen for further online interviews. These three students did an outstanding job promoting KHS and introducing themselves and their future goals.

After careful consideration and review of applications from other schools, the teachers from Shotoku Gakuen High School decided that one of our students, Ruby Ann Wilson (Year 12), has won this opportunity among the applications from six other high schools.

Congratulations, Ruby! She will be heading to Tokyo, Japan, next year for a few weeks. We wish her a fantastic journey and a wonderful experience while she is there.
