| Level 3 Digital Technology
|
Level 3 Digital Technology is a full year option course.
This
course is a university entrance approved course. It is designed to
allow students a freedom of choice in what area of Digital Technology
they are interested in. There is only one compulsory unit which is spreadsheets; this builds on from the Level 2 units and helps develop the Level 3 core skills. Students then select the remainder of
their course from NCEA Level 3 Unit Standards.
The
Level 3 units all come from the perspective of the student working with
a client. They not only learn more advanced skills in the particular
software they are using but they must work with a client (stakeholder)
to come up with a solution/outcome to meet the client's requests. Students
would be expected to create their own images, take and manipulate their own photographs and film their own movies to use in their work.
Possible choices for specialisation are:
- Web design
- Programming
- Image creation
- Word processing
