   Year 10 Digital Technology 

Year 10 Digital Technology is an option course that runs for a semester (approximately 20 weeks). The course gives students an introduction to the topics covered for NCEA Level 1. Students have the opportunity to learn a variety of skills and programs.

The course is broken into modules with the skills covered as follows:

Word Processing

  • Columns
  • Tables
  • Formatting - textual and non textual enhancements
  • Design Principles
  • Booklets

Spreadsheets

  • Use of formulae and functions
  • How to create a variety of charts
  • Formatting - textual and non textual enhancements
  • Design Principles

3D Drawings

  • Drawing objects and manipulating them
  • Creating actual drawings

Comic Strips

  • Creating storyboards
  • Use of word bubbles
  • Inserting images

Movie Making

  • Creating storyboards
  • Inserting images and video clips
  • Creating and inserting sound files
Introduction to Programming
  • Decision making and problem solving
  • Use of appropriate coding/programming language
  • Developing games
